Email notifications will be sent out via the central JIRA message queue whenever the Root Cause Issue field is modified. 

The Root Cause Analysis plugin will send an email to:

The emails will serve as a quick notification that some action is required by the individual receiving the message.

Any user who receives an email will have a new entry appear on the Root Cause Analysis dashboard gadget until the user performs some analysis on the issue and adds the summary relevant to their identified involvement in the Root Cause Issue.
